In 2015 Waverley Palmwoods Lodge celebrated their 100th anniversary, then 2020 they merged with Nambour Lodge to become Waverley Palmwoods Nambour Lodge, meeting in Woombye. Freemasonry has been a big part of the community on the Sunshine Coast with a number of Lodges being formed before or shortly after Federation some have closed and some like this Lodge merge so that their names & memories continue on..

History:

On Saturday 28th November, Masonic Brethren, their families & friends gathered in Woombye to celebrate the Re-Consecration of their Lodge that, by its very name indicates two distinctly different backgrounds and Histories and to better understand this we should go back to the beginning to where it all began.
The occupation of the Woombye District by European settlers dates back to 1842.

By 1860 pastoralists occupied the district and in 1863 the timber getters began removing cedar, beech and pine which was snigged to Eudlo Creek and rafted down to Maroochydore for shipment to Brisbane – Read More

In the Community:

As with all Masonic Lodges Waverley-Palmwoods-Nambour Brethren are very active in fund raising with each year charity going to a local organisation selected by that years Master of the Lodge.

General meetings held: First Thursday of each month (except January).
Lodge Tyles at 7.30pm
Management & Practice Meeting held the Monday preceding the Lodge meeting at 7.00pm.
